Path Report 11/11/11

Path Report 11/11/11

Better late than never/

I did outwit the weather/

With layering so clever/

Chills/ not me/ no never! /

An interesting mackerel sky /

Made the walk fly by/

'tho only a stroll/

I made my goal/

'tho waking took three tries/

Folk were few upon the path/

Perhaps, like you, on other tasks/

Maybe a day with elevens three/

Made hoi polloi laze-y

Ducks in pairs show how it's done/

When two move smoothly as one/

But solo or pair/

I achieved my fresh air/

In the total absence of sun/

In fact, some languid drops of rain/

Do much their absence to explain

Whether it's rain, wind, or snow

I'm always the last to know/

I watch the weather on channel 5/

Wrong most days/They're total jive/

So I'm oft caught by surprise/

As storms and freezes do arise/

How long before I realize/

For predicting/ use your eyes/

Also your nose/ and your ears/

Even if TV says 'clear'

Ditto on weather.com/

One thing I've found--

They're usually wrong!

Ruminations on Rumi

Ruminations on Rumi

It doesn't really matter/

The object of his ardor/

Divine or human /

Man or Woman /

It doesn't really matter

What we respond to/

in his words/

is the depth of his devotion/

A kind of emotion which could fill seven oceans /

A depth of longing deeper than the ocean floor /

A love so powerful it just cries out for more!!!

It's an aching joy as love rushes through the human frame/

Flooding the veins/

igniting the brain/

To surges of sweet synapse /

which cannot be contained/

Thinking of the loved one/

we become enflamed/

And this potent longing/

is what Rumi named/

Call it God, call it Tabriz

Rumi knew just what love is/

The seed from which all blessings grow/

Oceanic in its flow/

A feeling filling every cell/

Of Rumi we say/

He loved well
