What can we learn from freestyle rappers?
What can we learn from freestyle rappers?
This is a huge missing link. I want to activate the medial portions of my prefrontal cortex(mPFC) so I can apply my rhyming skills to freestyle. I wonder if there is an amino acid, like inositol, which could stimulate a particular part of the pre-frontal cortex, and you could learn to relax the other part of it. Yummy--I believe this is the future!

Kimmage Counter-sues
Sportswriter Paul Kimmage
from isle of Eire
Faced McQuaid/ Verbruggen
drew their fire
His friends backed him up in ire
The suit has gone from pan to fire
Now Paul K is counter-suing
suspicions of fraud are brewing
against Verbruggen and UCI
Now it's Hein and Pats' turn to cry
With war chest raised for defense
Paul K. and pals now play offense
Seek damages for rude comments,
accusations, arguments,
defamation, loss of rep, . .
This Ride will still get Rougher yet
Floyd Landis must be feeling chipper
His profile is now so much hipper
Ditto Frankie Andreu and wife
A welcome respite from their strife
Behind the scene is broken Lance
Oh, lies, all lies, and fiery pants
No victim of circumstance
He fiddled the tune of doping dance
But did he corrupt the UCI?
Time will tell, by the by

Imo's 3 Way
Wonderful Wednesday calls for a big break. 3 homemade ingredients combine for a heavenly cocktail
One part homemade Kombucha (expertly made by Ryan Wilder)
One part Kama Sutra elixir (Imo brew)
One part Fennel/Rose Ganesh Elixir (Imo brew, too)
Serve over decorative ice cubes. Sip with serenity and expectation

In Memoriam: Glenn Harold Murray 1930--2011
The Last Drop
There are no endings/
No curtain calls/
Eternal Lives/
Like waterfalls/
Ever sourced from a
Shoreless sea of light/
If life were day/
There would be no night/
There are no final moments/
Remaining crusts of bread/
Only continuity--there is no dead
Only an eternity of incarnations/
Like hopping on a train which
Slows down at a station/
Destination: Effortless Expansion
And if you miss one ride/
You can always catch the next one.

UCI Elite Men's Road Race
UCI World Championships 2012
Less than four laps to go,
the state of affairs is incognito
The pace is so high
musettes left unclaimed
but eating for energy
is part of the game?
Cav did his part
Then ended his year
rainbow striped jersey
clearly held dear
A fine world champ
everyone would agree
For me "Big Daddy"
he'll always be
Wiggins is out
Ditto Froome
Phinney will not challenge
T. Boon
A messy crash shatters the field
the favorites push on
refusing to yield
A strong breakaway
Contador does his stuff
as does Albasinni
Hanging back
trailing Nocentini
Hesjedal was slowed by the crash
He's fighting for a last minute dash
So many options for winning unfold
Too soon to predict who'll be wearing the gold
Again, the Cauberg!
Another climb!
Albert attacks another time!
Tommy V gestures at the front
Two laps to go
which team holds the trump?
Hope he's in hiding
And biding his time
Will Phil win from behind?
Spain's looking strong
Causing Belge angst
Talansky and Stannard
emerge from the ranks
Head winds are an issue
For those in the lead
A stinging descent
could cause a nose bleed
Just before Cauberg
a tactical spot
Stannard is a monster
Talansky is dropped
The heavy faves
including Gilbert
Follow Nibali
who flies through the air
It's down to tactics
And late season form
Berto attacks
For him, it's the norm
So many sprinters are showing their heads
'tho Alberto is dishing out dread
by setting a pace designed to deplete
Spain has a team which will be hard to beat
Italy's there!
Here comes Gilbert!!!
Of course, I'm hysterical
Philippe!! Philippe!!!!
And, please note, he's still on his feet!!!
He vanquished the best
And so many of 'em
The Belge-bulged crowd gives lots of loving'
Boas Hag gets silver
Valverde takes three
But the day belongs to Philippe G!
L' homme de fer in victory
The kind of champ we love to see
He's born for the rainbow jersey
He fights back tears adorably
This race has been a lot of fun
Especially as the best man won!!!!!!!!!
Women's Cycling Afterword
'Nuff said, I'm complete
But I have to admit
on the distaff side
I've been out of it
Marianne Vos
showed how women compete
exactly like men
Watching her was a treat
Thanks for the nudge
and case in point, Carol
My thoughts must expand
from gender view narrow
So looking ahead to 2013
I'll pay more attention
to woman's cycling
Happy Sunday to you
Hope you're in the saddle
Or basking in Philippe's
winning battle

Words of Wisdom
Leonard Cohen says much more eloquently than I can:
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in
That's how the light gets in
Happy Birthday, Ganesh!
It's Ganesha's Birthday
Tantra's Lord
Time to go
overboard
Sleep in
Drink gin
Disport with low women
Anything to shock the
system
For on the wild side
we will know him
Happy Birthday Lord Ganesh
To love you always is my wish!!!
Elite Men's Time Trial 9/19/12
Hooray for Tony Martin
who defended the Elite TT
He showed both skill and class
The mann from Germany
Ditto a man named Taylor
Phinney from the states
At 5:37 back it's Silver
that he takes
Way to go!,
you stellar cyclists
The world congratulates
who defended the Elite TT
He showed both skill and class
The mann from Germany
Ditto a man named Taylor
Phinney from the states
At 5:37 back it's Silver
that he takes
Way to go!,
you stellar cyclists
The world congratulates

VUELTA a ESPANA 2012
Vuelta Stage 21
Degenkolb sprints to win 5 stages
Valverde wins points
Sorry, Perito, I know that disappoints
Vuelta 2012 is for the ages
Alberto the crowd anoints
With seven fingers in the air
His count is what he thinks is fair
A race confounding cycling sages
Experts who self-appoint
Graham Jones picked Rodriguez
As did his buddy Sean
Even these total pros can 'times
be proven wrong
Everyone agrees
This race was the bees knees
Looking for more fun this year
Vuelta 2012 leaves much to cheer!

VUELTA STAGE 20
Contador has won the Vuelta
Menchov took the stage
Richie Porte rode nicely
A good show by Talansky
Rodriquez showed courage
It's tight at the top
For Senor Valverde
A skip and a hop
He'll have to step sharply
To hang on to his spot
Froome will get fourth
Don't you reckon?
The streets of Madrid
will be Berto's coronation
Important as pesos face
devaluation
The Vuelta is great for
Spain as a nation
Saxo-Bank-Tinkoff
Has cause for elation
Ditto Spanish team Movistar
Two men in the GC carry hopes far!
The Bola del Mundo
left many a scar
Cyclists who wished they'd climbed by car
Tomorrows' Madrid stage must seem a respite
Cause this years' Vuelta has been a tough fight
The rehabilitation of Albert and Valverde
They can win like champs without playing dirty!
Vuelta Stage 19
Vuelta Stage 19
Gilbert takes the win
Segovian orgasm
Can't contain my grin
World Championships
Are next on Phil Gilbert's list
Can't wait to see this!

Vuelta Stage 17 9/5/12
Perito defeat, Oh!
Fortune's reversal
Cycling's real life
Not a rehearsal
He's come so far
Shown so much class
In losing he will not be
'showing his ass'*
Contador went all in
Used strength and tactics
To win
Opportunity knocked
He was there at the door
Ready, willing, and able
Berto Contador
*to be exposed while acting like a total idiot

Vuelta Stage 16
Vuelta Stage 16
Cataldo and De Gendt
show what is meant
to be doggedly persistent
They took this steep stage
Showing great courage
On an unrelenting gradient
The big three then follow
Froome's hopes turning fallow
A flame who has burned all his tallow
Talansky rides well
As does D. Moreno
Gesink does all the mountain allows
A brutal climb
A stage for all time
The GC top ten sitting pretty
But for all these guys
Such a brutal ride
Fills my heart with pity
It makes me think of the Circus at Rome
To watch these gladiators struggle home
Tomorrow is a day of recline
All riders mulling over their time
Take heart, all lads, it's not just being kind
You've achieved stardom just crossing the line!
A brutal stage by any measure
May your pain be matched by pleasure

Vuelta Stage 15
Vuelta Stage 15
Four big men from Spain
Not showing pain
Piedra wins this game
9:25 to the gain
In local headgear
He appears dear
Lagos de Covadong
will live in memory long
Rodriguez, Contador,Valverde
One, two, three
Stand tall in the saddle
of the GC
Froome drops to four
has he anything more?
His podium chances feel poor
But he's a right lad
Not sulky, nor sad
'tho his chances look bad
I really hope
No one's on dope
'cause the Vuelta so far
has been rad!

Throbbingly urging us to express/
A generous nature which brings happiness/

Full Moon emotions keep us at high tide/
The Leo full moon continues her glide/
