Decanting Love Potion

This batch of Love Potion has had an extra long soaking in prayer cycle. Today, finally, it was time to stain the herbs (etc.) through cheese cloth. I got 4 1/2 quarts, owing to evaporation, but what I have looks promising. “The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.”--Rumi However, a daily sip of love potion reminds us that the desire for union is as constant as the fulfillment of it.

Wednesday--Still Freezing

Egrets, Geese,
Herons, Blue
Ducks, Sandpipers,
Seagulls, too
Listen and hear
Them play in song
It's nice that they all get along

Another Gorgeous Sunrise--Below Freezing

Yesterdays' terrain of burnished red
Shifts to shards of frosty white
It's amazing how the landscape
Can transform just overnight
The clouds which top Mount Tam
Float a display of color cued puffs
Pastels and tourmaline hues warm
Like hands slipped into muff

For Engines Ears Only

I must testify, I cannot lie, Anas Canon, ( the producer of my two latest projects) is a heck of an engineer. He was quietly sitting with Penny John, working on my website Sunday when his computer crashed. Total Disaster? But, no, using ingenuity and perseverence, he transfered his hard drive to my computer (apples and oranges in terms of processing speed) and built a "master daisy chain" to keep on recording vocals. His work speed cut 75%, with crashes every 20 minutes,
Anas remained calm and focused. He finished tracking 14 vocals, as planned. I have seen some serious third world engineering in the studios of Kingston, JA. Yet, under heavy pressure, Anas kept his cool and his deadlines like no other. Mad props!!!

Man/ House Get Second Chance

Early today I was driving up my street. I stopped to admire the extensive landscaping the new owners had done on the house next door. For years, a lady lived there who was so disruptive, the neighborhood started to organize to look for solutions. At the first meeting was a trial attorney. A brusque, angry, confrontational guy, you would definately not want to have him oppose you in court. Sometime after that I heard he'd had a freak accident on the Pixie Trail nearby. His dog had pulled him down a ravine. His injuries were extensive, he seemed almost infantile, He could barely walk or speak. His wife would lovingly bring the dog with them as he shuffled slowly up the hill. Today I saw the dog with no leash, and then the man. I pulled over in front of the house which had been condemned, resold, and re-landscaped. I said, "It's good to see you." But I was seeing a sweet, friendly, gentleman, not the tough guy of five years ago. Of the house I said, "It looks so beautful, it's almost like a dream." He smiled and agreed "Everything is great." Both man and house got a new lease on life. And it seems like both could simply not be happier.
