My World is Dr. Feelgood

My World Is Dr. Feelgood

I don't need a physician
To control my condition
I'm as healthy as the day is long
My Diagnosis: "Nothing Wrong"
I enjoy abundant health
The sort that's worth much more than wealth
My habits should be understood
For me, the world is Dr. Feelgood

(bridge)Dr. Feelgood!
Yes, you felt me
The world at large
is there to help me
(Chorus) Dr. FEEE_L Good, Feee-el GoodX2

If I need a tonic
I take a few breaths deep
The chilly air enlivens me
When I awake from sleep
If I'm feeling hungry
I have something good to eat
A Dr. Feelgood sort of meal
Is something I repeat
If my feet ache. I get a rub
If I'm worn out, I take a tub
And when it comes to exercise
I merely have to move outside
I live in a perfumed garden
That's the spot from where I'm startin'
The scent of flowers gets me going
Green has a smell when things are growing
(chorus)Dr. Feeel Good?X3

And as I wander on my route
Wonders I pick just like fruit
A handsome man who throws me kisses
Vitamin-L-- that shot never misses
Testosterone--my drug of choice
Pours over me with your voice
By the time the sun is fully up
I've drunk deep from my loving cup
Dr. Feelgood is a daily diet
Well-being's in the air
Why not just try it?

Spring Sunday in San Francisco

I decided to go the the San Francisco film festival. I didn't know anything about the films on offer, and apparently, I didn't know much about the early 20th century art scene in Paris. I did not know, for example that Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky were lovers. But they were, and the movie screened about their affair was a sell-out smash. As I was waiting in a wonderful, sun-drenched, line of movie buffs, I noticed a beautiful older woman wearing an outfit inspired by Chanel. Soft fabric, separates, bold stripes, boatneck, shirt, pants, and a coordinating tam. She was beautful, white haired and erect and I would say, in her mid-eighties. She was clearly the star in the crowd. I was amazed when she asked if she could sit next to me. Two theaters, completely filled, and Maude sits next to me. What fun. We both enjoyed the film. I strongly recommend it.

Moving on out Geary to 27th St. and Wonderfoot Reflexology. My fairygoddaughter, Laura, joined me and we played both my new releases on an ipod while we had our treatments. Larry and Michael--respect!!! The gorgeous sun was still out when we moved on to the Elite Cafe for a glass of Chartreuse and some side-splitting laughter, as we settled some geographical questions invoving Iceland and New Zealand.

It was twilight as we walked around the corner to "Out the Door". A little Vietnamese supper, green papaya salad, shaking beef, and snap peas hit the spot. However, there was a little room left for Mango and Sticky Rice at a place called Pagan on Clement. I read Laura five poems, new stuff in the last ten days. I do consider this an enchanted April. Got to sleep in time to wake up and walk in the beautiful coolness of the new day. The illustration is FGD Laura with Jennifer at Wonderfoot. Ankle over there if you can. Your feet and every inch of you will say thanks.

Just Sayin'
There's something about you/
Like wearing a hug
I'd roll up inside you/
If you were a rug
I'd have you for breakfast/
If you were an omelette
If I were a poet/ You'd be my sonnet
If I were a chef/ I'd cook you for lunch
If I were Pilates, you'd be my crunch
The pleasure I get from just saying your name/
Says if I were a hunter/ You'd be my game
But since I go in for more peaceful pursuits /
Let's just say you're the flower/
And I am the root

Collard Greens By All Means

My friend Tracy brought me a huge bunch of fresh-picked collard greens. I didn't have a good vegetarian recipe, so I asked Laura, my FGD and award-winning nutritionist. She quickly gave me this recipe. It is so delicious, you won't miss the ham-hock or all day cooking. Viva veges/ You Go, greens. Here's how it goes:

I carefully removed everything but the leaves, rinsed and drained in a strainer.

In two batches, I steamed them in my vege steamer for about 25 minutes/ until very limp

At this point they were so delicious, they could be enjoyed JUST AS IS

However, I sliced yellow onion about 1/2 cup

Heating a little butter and olive oil in a saute pan, I sauteed the onion until limp, adding a couple of TBS blond balsamic vinegar (opt)

After sauteeing for a few minutes until well softened, I added the drained greens, salt, pepper, half a Meyer lemon, squeezed, and some toasted pecans. OMG!!!!!
