Path Report 11/11/11

Path Report 11/11/11

Better late than never/

I did outwit the weather/

With layering so clever/

Chills/ not me/ no never! /

An interesting mackerel sky /

Made the walk fly by/

'tho only a stroll/

I made my goal/

'tho waking took three tries/

Folk were few upon the path/

Perhaps, like you, on other tasks/

Maybe a day with elevens three/

Made hoi polloi laze-y

Ducks in pairs show how it's done/

When two move smoothly as one/

But solo or pair/

I achieved my fresh air/

In the total absence of sun/

In fact, some languid drops of rain/

Do much their absence to explain

Whether it's rain, wind, or snow

I'm always the last to know/

I watch the weather on channel 5/

Wrong most days/They're total jive/

So I'm oft caught by surprise/

As storms and freezes do arise/

How long before I realize/

For predicting/ use your eyes/

Also your nose/ and your ears/

Even if TV says 'clear'

Ditto on weather.com/

One thing I've found--

They're usually wrong!

Ruminations on Rumi

Ruminations on Rumi

It doesn't really matter/

The object of his ardor/

Divine or human /

Man or Woman /

It doesn't really matter

What we respond to/

in his words/

is the depth of his devotion/

A kind of emotion which could fill seven oceans /

A depth of longing deeper than the ocean floor /

A love so powerful it just cries out for more!!!

It's an aching joy as love rushes through the human frame/

Flooding the veins/

igniting the brain/

To surges of sweet synapse /

which cannot be contained/

Thinking of the loved one/

we become enflamed/

And this potent longing/

is what Rumi named/

Call it God, call it Tabriz

Rumi knew just what love is/

The seed from which all blessings grow/

Oceanic in its flow/

A feeling filling every cell/

Of Rumi we say/

He loved well

Le Tour de France 2011

I feel well/ about Cadel/

Gilbert, bien sur, no square/

Hincapie is making me happy/

Contador opens the door/

For Thor? For Thor?

A photo finish for Mr. Evans/

Thor stays in yellow/ thank heavens/

And this is only etage quatre/

Does it get more great than thatta?

Raiders stood tall to say "Bon Jour"/

This is terrific for my first Tour/

Although a divan pomme de terre/

I feel thrilled: like I were there

May Monday

MAY MONDAY

It being Monday/

I tried to start out right/

Which in my case/

Means wearing white/

I was ambling as per usual/

Practicing a song/

When a flock of snowy egrets/

Happened along/

I could not help but notice/

They were flying low/

And quite leisurely/

(They had nowhere else to go)/

In pairs they flew up to me/

Then quickly swooped away/

Had they met a new Big Bird?

Was my first flight today?

Were the sounds they heard come from me/

Some new mating call?/

Or perhaps/ they had to ask/

Was I no bird at all?

Whatever conclusion/

They may have reached/

I felt Bird World inclusion/

Was very, very sweet

As you'll see from the photos/

I will enclose/

They honored me by staying still/

While I was very close !

MAY 2

In the course of a fever/

I became a believer/

in a fate/ somewhat Bronte-ian/

Would I expire/ with a heart on fire/

Or recover/ to drink coffee from Yemen?

So, I lived to walk out/ and wander about/

Released by CNN/

I wanted to shout/ or at least slurp a stout/

To the end of Osama Bin Laden/

No one was on deck/ news held them in check/

to see one of Springs' sweet traditions

Mom and Pop Goose/

Let their kids on the loose/

Where they now swim without supervision

Addicted to Love

Addicted to Love

I'm addicted to love

I don't have an excuse

I could lie about it

But what'd be the use?

A chemical cocktail

It's my super-juice

Love is my foundation

A key, not a noose

(chorus)Addicted to Love

It's Not a Crime

Addicted to Love

All Love--All the time

It's the thrill of attraction

The thrill of the chase

And memories tender

Which time can't erase

The sound of your voice

The light when you smile

The touch of your fingers

Thrills me all the while

I never get tired of looking at you

I'm constantly happy that you are my boo

And if any of this

Should ever change

I know for certain

I'll love again

I AM HERCULE

Unencumbered by Science/

Or any appliance/

I check out my world/

Like Hercule Poirot/

Low tech methodology/

Combined with psychology/

Exposes a universal mentality:/

We all want freedom/

We all want health/

We all want love/

and lots of wealth/

We all want looks/

add a dab of charis/

that's the human condition/

the way it is

The human race/

Puts on a good face/

Kindness and courage/ are commonplace/

Simple love is what keeps us on track/

Which is good, because there's no going back

It's well that it's an expanding Universe/

With all my love encrypted in verse

I never learned to be brief and terse/

A long-winded Imo/

For better or worse

Some Sunday Rhymes

Mellow Sunday Morning

You are completely mine/ And that goes for all time

We both feel it's fine/ That our hearts align

Something has birthed itself/ alive as champagne fizz

Transmutation through union/ shows that love is all there is

That devil in the details/ need not apply to us

Nor the definitions/ which cause so much fuss

There may be no label/ For our dual experience

But mutual affection/ Is the feeling which takes prominence

We may not have a future, a present, or a past

But knowing that you're loving me/ Is all that I could ask

I burned another pot today/ While writing my poetry

Cooking takes a second place/ when thinking of your face

My love is existential/ perhaps a bit minimalist/

Yet the tingle is no swindle/ imagining your kiss

The honor of your regard/ remains a compliment/

A dyed-in-wool romantic/ is this what was meant?

On this Sunday morning/ I drink a loving cup/

If you had not appeared in flesh/ I'd have to make you up.

Weather Girl Four

Two of my worlds collided today/
Turned out pretty well/
I'm happy to say/
Strict Rastafari meets halfway/
When I say, hey/
it's OK to be gay!
That's how we roll here by the Bay/
Ditto on drinking/ oh-blah-dee/
Oh blah day/
Even Jah-wari a big bobo dread/
Had to lose screw face/
And show love instead
Sake explains my new set of buds/
Young Chinese-Americans/
cute but not studs/
We broke down barriers of insularity/
I thought they were dope/
they thought same of me/
And although toasted/
They remained classy/
A great 48 hour party
And now I'm at home/
The rain falling hard/
It's finally time to let down my guard/
In remaining Imo/
I put up a good fight/
And now, gentle reader/ goodnight/
goodnight

Supermoon: The Deana Trilogy

Love without the Sting

As a life-long romantic/
and passionate lover/
I felt my heart-quotient/
was high as any other/
I bought into the 'bittersweet'
belief/
but going beyond that one/
brings me relief/
I know you can love deep/ and without grief/
And by my example/
I will teach

Love without the Sting/
Love without the Sting/
Love without the Sting/
Love without the Sting

You can choose in an instant/
The scene you're creating/
By looking for the thought which feels best/
love or hating?/
When the loving thought is always/
the one which feels best/
You've found the secret to happiness

You've got to focus on the good stuff/
Let all else delete/
Think just of happy endings/
And no more''bittersweet'

Licence To Love
Intro(spoken word)Mr. Bond?
James Bond?
Yes, it's me/ imo
Can you help me, Mr. Bond?
OK, James
I need an appointment with "M"?
I need a licence/
Not to kill/ no 007/
I need a license to love!!!

(chorus) License to love/
I need a/
License to love X 2

My heart's in the right place/
I set a fast pace/
I may be bull/ in a china shoppe/
But when I love/
I don't stop

License to love
License to love

I always barge in heart first/
It's always bulging/
But it won't burst/
Gregory's gone/
I'm the night nurse/
But don't be frightened.
It could be worse/
I'll fire warning shots/
You'll disperse/

(chorus)Licence to Love
Licence to Love
Licence to love/
Licence to love

I've got a record/
As long as your arm/
A heavy rep to go along/
If you should cause/
my heart to beat/
I won't try to be discreet/
Give up/ my dear/
Accept defeat

Licence to love/

Love Explosion (Sufi Style)
What feels as good as love?/
Nothing in the world/
Great results like wind whipped flags/ unfurl/
When love's high on your list/
You don't mind the risk/ risk/
Coming from a place of bliss/
Life goes nice/
as you would wish/
Real life without artifice/
An inner glow/
a constant kiss

This comes from feeling loved/
And feeling loved/ best comes from loving/
Love Explosions/
as I would say!
Always spiral outwardly/
Expanding waves of joy/
joy and positivity/
'Cause that's all there is/
do you see?
What's called acting impulsively/
Creates a Love Reality/
Positive nuclear activity/
Exploding waves of ecstasy
Exploding waves of ecstasy
Whirlwinds of interplay/
As heart-whorls twirl us lovingly/
A stunning play of ecstasy/
A dazzling dance, as of Sufi

But my name's Maureen/
Which makes me part Irish/

To celebrate/
I chose to make/
A dish fit for a queen/
And as they are verdant/
I say: Baking of the Green

Baking of the Green
Baking of the Green
Only slightly legal/

Tsunami or not 2 B?

Tsunami Poem

A natural curiosity/
About a tsunami/
A giant swell/
Could very well/
Be the end of me

To be swept out to sea/
While strolling in Mill Valley/
That would be/
Extremely trippy.

At 23 Janes Street/
In the foothills of Mt. Tam/
I'm likely to stay high and dry/
So that is where I am

Safety first/
It could be worse/
Let the Raiders know/
A change of route/
Would be astute/
A safer way to go

By noon this should be history/
The waves' effect no mystery/
I'll be trodding on the path/
Observing the aftermath

Call me a whus, a whimp, or scaredy cat/
But below sea level is not where it's at/
I'm sure you and yours will be safe and sound/
But for the moment I'm taking high ground

In a moment of truth/
It must be said/
What a great excuse/
To stay in bed :) i

Love is Everything

In the most mundane way/
When it comes to brass tacks/
Survival/
Growing life from scratch/

Love is Everything.
Love is Everything

It's the double helix/
Spiraling DNA/
Undulating waves of light/
Carving out our way/
The active principle/
Which moves us from/
First breath/
Is also our first cause/
For happiness

Love is Everything
Love is Everything

Once you know/
"having feelings"
You join the rest of us/
That extra loving feeling/
Of which we make such fuss/
Having feelings for another/
A natural state of grace/
No less a miracle/
Because it's commonplace/
From hovel to estate/
A natural state of grace/
Always a sacred space/
Although it's commonplace

Love is Everything
Love is Everything
Love is Everything
Love is Everything

Weather Girl

A change in the weather/
For worse or for better/
Makes my heart undulate/
Like fish trolling for bait/
When the rains began to start/
They played / tattoo on my heart/
Making my love more intense/
Well, rain is wet/ it makes some sense
Then the days turned balmy/
and so did I/ constantly sniffing at the sky
Inhaling the air like a fine pinot noir/
Wondering wistfully where you are?
The sweetness of an early spring/
Mirrors the joy which love can bring
A shift in pressure barometric/
Is one more thing making/
my heart tick
And when the fog begins to slither/
It makes me want you to come hither/
A carousel of micro-climes/
Makes me more lovey all the time

Weather Girl Part Two

Saturday's mildness/
Gave way to a wildness/
Which always gets me going/
I feel especially cuddily/
When the winds are blowing/
The leaves are whispering secrets/
Our hearts already guess/
Ushering in hours/
Of Sunday's happiness/
Supporting the moist atmosphere/
a cloud of luminescence clear/
Titanium's the focus here/
At least for a few minutes, dear

Weather Girl Part Three

The pond ripples/ tickled by a breeze:
Hinting of nature/not quite at ease
The clouds threaten rain/
but are merely hanging/
Awaiting their close up/
When thunder starts banging/
The ducks have chosen to swim in a line/
Avoiding a tumult which will come in time/
The paths' loamy moistness/
Makes a slow transit/
Perhaps, baby grumpling,
that's just how Jah plans it/
Blessing each step which acrues pre-precip/
With weather/ it's making the most of it/
Saturday was Mediterranean
I'll think about that
when it starts to storm again.
I'm asking a question
which starts to perplex me/
Why changes in weather
make me feel sexy?/
I channel my urges through poetry/
Illustrating transmuted energy/
When tempest peaks/
I hit the sheets/
Producing vibes extra-ordinary/

Mubarak Steps Down

A massive day for technology/
Facebook and Twitter writing history/
Egypt gets a chance to be free/
To experience democracy/
Everyone seems so happy/
Mubarak's departure/ oh-blah-de/
Meanwhile at home/
Getting to core values/
I'm roasting Marias' Brazilian Cerrado/
My beans are cooling--but for a day?
I want to grind some right away/
Preparing my coffee in a manner traditional/
Layers a pleasure with joy additional/
The smell of roasting is psychedelic/
Tho' the hand popper is sort of a relic/
I raise my cup to the people of Egypt/
Your moment has come/
So glad you could seize it/

Caffeine Dream

Caffeine Dream
Following leads from the Internet/
Pan roasted green beans 'till they looked wet/
Transforming to brown/ beans of Ethiopia/
Put me in mind of a Coffee Utopia/
A world wide agreement/ from
Spain to Somali:/
When drinking fresh Java,/
Agree to be jolly/
No arguments about God or gender/
No belief systems needing surrender/
Just wave after wave of love unconditional/
When sipping good coffee/
Good cheer 'comes traditional/
Soon just the aroma of fresh
Brewed bunn/
Will signal the whole world/
To smile and have fun!
A vibe of enjoyment and relaxation/
Would spread like a virus from nation to nation/
Universal love would be the norm/
Starting with the first cup every morn

January First, 2011

1/1/11
January First/
Early in the day/
I want to set a good note/
As the year gets underway/
Two thousand and ten/
Was an annum straight from heaven/
How to top that / In two thousand and eleven?
A sure fire way to ensure satisfaction/
Is a brand new batch of/
Oil of Attraction
Custom blend by Imo/
It's her umpteenth version/
When it comes to erotica/
It's total immersion/
So Happy New Year/
One and All/
From Mill Valley to the 'hood/
I'll put my best foot forward/
By smelling very good
