Soon leaves the peloton in splinters
First the abandon of Vande Velde, C.
He has suffered horribly
After still another crash
He's out
his last tour turns to ash
Cannondale in support of Pete Sagan
Fly at the front as fast as they can
They want the sprint intermediate
As well as the stage--a big get
Intimidating Cav and Andre
Is the order of the day
They make a mighty show of force
They'll have to keep it up
Of course

His teams' support a treat
With 40 miles left to ride
The big sprint guys are pushed aside
Frustration spoils Cav's game face
Unlikely he can win this race
Bakelants tries another break
Of winning he's now had a taste
The sprinters have called it a day
Cannondale has had their say
Brutish from the starting bell
They had a plan
They did it well
The pace of the race
Has been so high
Riders like birds in the sky
Sagen wins, honors his team
For Cannondale stage sept a dream!
