Windy Walk Wednesday

A bit
of
excitement/ Amidst the solitude/
Having missed yesterday/
I was in a walking mood/
Skirting puddles/ bending into gusts/
My hat flew off into the marsh/
Just beyond my touch
I had to climb down the bank/
To pluck it from the drink/
And in a 30 mph wind/
That's harder than you'd think/
One foot got wet/ As you might guess/
But the plan had its' success/
My hat and I survived intact/
I held it tight/ as I walked back/
Next I needed a road crew/
Just to get my car started !
Walking today /
was not for the faint hearted./
Still, I made the effort/
And the effort was rewarded/
I came home with all my hats/
The fashion gremlins thwarted!
If you think my small adventure scary/
It shows just how far I'll go/
For a piece of millinary

Lunar Eclipse/ Winter Solstice

The thing about this lunar eclipse/
Is that it so clearly rhymes with lips/
Your lips / I can feel them pressing on mine/
A pressure which unleashes a lava flow/
A kiss on the solstice/ which shows what we know/
That love is the magic of the spheres/
A kiss which will last 500 years.

Imos' San Francisco

Susu Attar turned me on to the fish tandori at Chutney in the SF tenderloin. The fish was "on point" as Ms. Attar promised. Even Cocoa, a fussy foodie, was impressed. And so mellow, she took this great picture of me, celebrating a early Christmas in a delightful Pakistani spot.

So near and yet so far
That's exactly where you are/
Across the county or the galaxy/
What inner eye attempts to see
The vision of our unity/
X-Ray eyes/ the heart espies
What is both to be/ and not to be
Dual, not dueling, versions of reality

My Wild, Wonderful, Weekend

I went to a wonderful party Saturday night. It was a Masquerade. Guests wore elaborate fabulous masks and costumes, sometimes over hijabs, or veils. The weather was perfect. Cool with no wind. I was wearing four dresses a head wrap and two masks. It was hard to see, but very cozy.

The party was in honor of an extraordinary young artist: Baraka Blue. A Sufi poet of great purity and talent, he is also a street smart rapper who can hold down a beat.
With the greatest respect I say "His Swag is Light". His new album Sound Heart, brilliantly produced by Anas Canon, takes 'muslim hip-hop' to the next level.

I performed with several other artists, all impressive. I read three poems and felt the love. I brought a peloton of fairygoddaughters, and their dazzling associates. We held down the beat and danced all night long. With Anas DJ-ing, there was no alternative.

Tracy and Anas, who together are Remarkable Current records know how to throw a great party. Fun was had by all and love was unconditional and flowing like the chocolate fountain. There was a Morocco room and a hookah nook. It was, in short, off the hook.

For Forty days and Forty Nights "Sound Heart" is available on REMARKABLECURRENT.COM for FREE. Highly recommended. Stands up to Damian and Nas' Distant Relatives: Go there!

Or, Go dere! Friday night I went retrograde into the glory days of Jamaican reggae. Franklyn "Bubbler" Waul the seminal keyboardist and Taxi Gang member was in town with Sly and Robbie.
We missed connections, even though they were playing two of my favorite venues, I didn't know.
With my early to bed, early to rise program, I miss a lot. Anyway, we FINALLY linked for a blast into the past. Cutting edge, and a member of Bob Marley's band since his teens, Bubbler is a consummate professional. He has had faith in me as a musician since day one. It was with great joy that I was able to create a listening session with so much of my new music. He has had five kids since we last met, I've had thirty songs. He loves my new productions. I love that he's got the big family under one roof and enjoys being pater familias. Bubbler's talent for music is unexcelled, as is his talent for friendship. One Love, Bubbler!

Errol Flynn

Errol Flynn

Oh, I have a deep passion/
For Errol Flynn/
I watch every movie/
He's starring in/
I tape them so I can watch/
Multiple times/
I've seen them so often/
I know all the lines.
When Essex courted/
Good Queen Bess/
He loved her well/
But it ended a mess/
He lost both his life/
Lost his queen no less
And spent his last days/
In extreme duress
In the foreign service/
He climbed over rocks/
Led his men into safety/
While taking hard knocks.
As Robin of Hood/
He did as he should/
Swashbuckling in tights/
Try as he might/
He stood for all that's right
A swordsman, a soldier, a lover, a knave/
In all of his roles/ he earned a rave
And yet never learned how to behave/
Or ultimately his life to save/
He died so young/ it was outrage
As a cocksman his conquests were legion/
The phrase "In Like Flynn" lives on for a reason

Oh, Errol, Errol, Errol Flynn/
You're the dream I'm living in

Errol/ Errol/ Errol Flynn

Seafood Chowder

Leviticus would not approve/
Dr. Nancy would poo-poo/
Perhaps I've just got less to lose/
But seafood chowder does amuse/

High protein/ low fat/
Muscles like to grow on that/
Mushrooms and spinach add fiber/
I don't think you'll complain of either

Fragrant and spicy/
Not too picante/
Fish chowder makes a lovely meal/
You'll know by just how good you feel

A hunk of baguette/
You dunk and get wet/
And don't you forget/
Your serviette

HEART CATCHER

Heart Catcher

'True Love only comes once'
I've heard that frequently
But that doesn't coincide
With what happens to me
My life is like a subway ride
Filled with stops and starts
Each ride finds another love
to enrich my heart
My life's a "Supermarket Sweep"
And I'm the shopping cart
And, sweetie, once I pick you up
It's never more to part

(bridge)I'm a Heart Catcher
Hearts stick to me like glue
If you feel caught in my web
It's just because I love you

(chorus)Heart Catcher/
Heart Catcher

Do you really want to move
From my sweet restraints?
A tender heart held carefully
Gives no cause for complaint
I can give assurance
In all faith and belief
Resting soft within my love
Will bring the most relief

(bridge)I'm a Heart Catcher
Hearts stick to me like glue
If you feel caught in my web
It's just because I love you

A pink wig found with ‘Dudus’ 10:11 AM
Cops tailed ‘Dudus’ for hours before pulling over car
'Dudus' captured
BY KARYL WALKER & KIMMO MATTHEWS
Wednesday, June 23, 2010

CHRISTOPHER 'Dudus' Coke — Jamaica's most wanted fugitive — was captured yesterday afternoon in a police dragnet along the Mandela Highway in St Catherine.
The capture of Coke, who is wanted by United States authorities to answer drug-trafficking and gun-running charges, comes just short of a month after he escaped from his former stronghold of Tivoli Gardens in West Kingston when the security forces stormed the community to execute an arrest warrant on him and restore order after gunmen loyal to him barricaded all entrances to Tivoli and launched unprovoked attacks on the State.
Police say Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke was wearing this wig (above) when he was held yesterday.
Last night, a highly placed police source confirmed that Coke was wearing a wig when he was held.
The Observer was also told that Coke, who normally wore a beard, was clean-shaven at the time of his capture.
"When we held him the first thing he said was how he was happy that he was not harmed," a policeman said.
Since the May 24 offensive, Coke had been on the lam, and the police last Friday increased a $1.2 million bounty for his capture to $5 million.
The US authorities say they have nine co-conspirators who have given them information to build a solid case against Coke, who is the head of the notorious Shower Posse.

I think if Mr. Coke had gotten an appropriate full lace wig, perhaps some variations of blond to work with his complexion, all this wouldn't have happened.

PS: My comment: See a serious G., Snoop Dogg in his video ode to Sookie, of "True Blood." That's what we like our baaad bwoy a dress.

Medea goes to Jail JA Stylie!

Courtesy of the Jamaica Observor, see the cartoon and photo of Dudus Coke, thug-in-chief of Tivoli Gardens, accused drug trafficer, and (unbelievably) master-mind of the notorious, violent, international Shower Posse. The guy has been on the lam since the Po-po stormed his garrison kingdom. 73 of his supporters and hired guns died. A cop died. An accountant died because he lived next door to someone suspected of hiding Coke. The comments following the article on Dudas' ignominious arrest in the company of the "reverend" and "questionable" Al Miller are priceless, as above :'Medea goes to jail',“We could not believe that the big don had a pink wig in his car! Pink! We were in shock,” a police source told Chat! yesterday, between bouts of uncontrollable laughter.
“We still in shock. Maybe that is why he was able to stay in hiding for so long, because people looking for a man but he was really a ‘woman’!”

I think here, a picture is worth 1000 words.

It's the Injera, stupid!

My favorite Ethiopian restaurant is Asmara,in Oakland. I like to meet my fairygoddaughters there, and have been known to "party in the car" with them, while parked on Telegraph Avenue. That is where I saw the license plate "AMOR U", which inspired the first song on "Tell a Different Story." More recently, I wrote "Itzall Done", while waiting for Laura. Yesterday, she spotted the plate "PRUVE IT!";and I wrote a song on the spot. 50th and Telegraph is obviously a power spot

The Dipsea Makes Me Weepy

The Dipsea makes me cry
I'm not sure exactly why
An 8 year old girl won
That couldn't be more fun
A grandma came in second
Her age and wisdom reckoned
100 years of the Dipsea race
Is enough to make me wet my face
Tears of joy and tears of laughter
Hope the Dipsea goes for 'ever after'. . .
100 Years/ 100 Years
To all those runners I say "CHEERS!"

On Sunday, at the Marin Farmers' Market, I saw a license plate: SIMPLEXITY

As you follow the Way of Simplexity
You'll discover less reason for vex-ity
Keeping it simple and close to the heart
Creates a firm basis for life AND art
You can tart it up with ruffles and bows
You can make secret signs for those in the know
You can layer strings and horn sections to blow
But keeping it simple's the way to go

Damian and Nas at the Fox Theater, Oakland

Unseasonable soaking showers could not dampen the enthusiasm at the Fox Theater in Oakland last night. Newly, and beautifully restored the venue is an iridescent, gilded reminder of Art Deco opulence. The show sold out, the crowd came early, happily enjoying itself. One of the white-shirted ushers was making some rap moves himself. No one seemed to mind. Fabulous seats in the balcony, center stage, thanks Laura. Perfect sound. I loved all the lighting effects and staging.
The band looked and sounded first rate. I first saw Damian, with Snoop Dog, in San Francisco some years ago. Performing his two excellent albums live, he seemed fragile and tentative. Last night he was confidant and strong. Plus, he's the cutest thing on two legs. The love child of Bob Marley and former Miss World, Cindy Breakspeare, he makes transmigration of souls seem a reality. Raised carefully, out of the spotlight, he joined his Marley half-brothers, Stephen and Ziggy in musical adventuring. And so, in the course of his journey, he met up with Nas. Don't know much about brother Nas, except through his music. I know he has a number of kids, and many more albums. He's East Coast, I think. Really good lyrics!!! Hard delivery. Born in Brooklyn to a "cultural" jazz influenced family, he quit school early, educated himself in Black Studies, and started to rap. Witty as all get out, sarcastic, but not a hater--my favorites of his songs are K-I-S-S-I-N-G, and something about Fried Chicken "That's Just what ******* Do". Having sold more than 10 million records, he was adoreable, bursting with pride, as the audience applauded a really good flow. He was pleased, smiling. How CUTE!!! On several occasions the crowd went wild, the roar was oceanic. The show was totally a LUV Thang. I'll buy the album Nas and Damian just dropped, "Distant Relatives." On every level, I say, welcome to the family!

A Preview of Paradise

PREVIEW OF PARADISE

A Lavender farm in Sonoma/
A cattle ranch in Oklahoma
A mountaintop in Katmandu
All these have expansive views
Vistas which go on forever/
Hint at a heaven without measure/
Such as the Preview of Paradise
I see when looking in your eyes

(bridge)Pools of pleasure draw me in/
Is there a price of ad-mission?
Do I need a backstage pass?
Is there a question I must ask?

(chorus)Preview of Paradise/ Preview of Par-a-dise X2

A carousel with ten gold rings
A garden where night birds sing
And peacocks stroll by two by two
Where I am standing close to you
Exotic flowers scent a breeze
The ripest fruit drops from the trees
We live a life of love and ease
Conspiring only ways to please

(bridge)Pools of pleasure draw me in/
Is there a price of ad-mission?
Do I need a backstage pass?
Is there a question I must ask?

Oh, Those great big beautiful Eyes

This is an fascinating story. Read the comments for nuance, but I think this is the early warning of the canary in the coal mine of Saudi orthodoxy. You go, gir-r-r-l-l-l.

Awesome: Saudi woman beats up virtue cop
POSTED AT 11:30 AM ON MAY 18, 2010 BY CASSY FIANO
[ ISLAM ] PRINTER-FRIENDLY

Some news today sure to bring a smile to your face: in Saudi Arabia, a virtue cop tried to harass an unmarried couple for being out in public together. The man collapsed, and the woman proceeded to kick the cop’s butt:

It was a scene Saudi women’s rights activists have dreamt of for years.

When a Saudi religious policeman sauntered about an amusement park in the eastern Saudi Arabian city of Al-Mubarraz looking for unmarried couples illegally socializing, he probably wasn’t expecting much opposition.

But when he approached a young, 20-something couple meandering through the park together, he received an unprecedented whooping.

A member of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Saudi religious police known locally as the Hai’a, asked the couple to confirm their identities and relationship to one another, as it is a crime in Saudi Arabia for unmarried men and women to mix.

For unknown reasons, the young man collapsed upon being questioned by the cop.

According to the Saudi daily Okaz, the woman then allegedly laid into the religious policeman, punching him repeatedly, and leaving him to be taken to the hospital with bruises across his body and face.

To say that this is inspiring to oppressed women in the Middle East is a massive understatement.

“To see resistance from a woman means a lot,” Wajiha Al-Huwaidar, a Saudi women’s rights activist, told The Media Line news agency. “People are fed up with these religious police, and now they have to pay the price for the humiliation they put people through for years and years. This is just the beginning and there will be more resistance.”

Hopefully, Al-Huwaidar is right. Unfortunately, the repercussions for this woman’s actions could be severe, should the police choose to press charges.

Neither the religious police nor the Eastern Province police has made a statement on the incident, and both the names of the couple and the date of the incident have not been made public, but on Monday the incident was all over the Saudi media.

Should the woman be charged, she could face a lengthy prison term and lashings for assaulting a representative of a government institution.

Saudi law does not permit women to be in public spaces without a male guardian. Women are not allowed to drive, inherit, divorce or gain custody of children, and cannot socialize with unrelated men.

Not only did this woman break Saudi law by socializing with an unrelated man, she also assaulted a male police officer. I find it hard to believe that Saudi authorities will let this one go. Supposedly, more women in the Middle East are standing up against the oppression and abuse forced upon them. That’s a wonderful thing, and this woman’s bravery and spirit should be applauded and shouted about around the world. Muslim women need to see that they do not have to tolerate these abuses. I really hope that she doesn’t end up in prison and getting lashings. I highly doubt that the cop just strolled up to her, her male friend spontaneously collapsed, and she then beat the crap out of him. Something had to have happened. And if nothing else, this story just goes to further illuminate the way that women live in Saudi Arabia. It’s awful.

Meanwhile, the feminists are silent about this. For all of their supposed championing of “womens rights”, they seem to have more pressing issues to worry about than real oppression of women in Saudi Arabia. They certainly don’t seem to mind the misogyny and oppression Islam currently perpetuates. Feministing is currently running posts moaning about the lack of women in late night comedy. Feministe’s most recent posts are talking about Miley Cyrus and Woody Allen. Pandagon is discussing immigration and “anti-feminism”. Shakesville reposts a text message conversation about Dana Carvey and complains about so-called racism in the United States.

Ah, our modern-day feminist crusaders. They’re really working hard to liberate oppressed women, aren’t they? Maybe they should take a cue from real feminists like this unnamed women and stop worrying about ridiculous issues like women on late night comedy shows.

.

Ehh?

Is this like the Russian’s explanation for what happened to the Somali pirates?

Russian officals explained: “Apparently they died.”

Seems odd that the man just swooned and that threw the woman into a violent rage. Either way, no matter what it ends up being, I hope that she somehow manages to avoid any severe punishment. Not really holding out for that though.

Maybe the cop tazed her beau.

OhioCoastie on May 18, 2010 at 12:37 PM

Hey guys,

I’ve lived in Saudia for the last 2 1/2 years and while I’m not familiar with the particulars of this story, I can tell you it isn’t quite accurate either. For one thing, the religious police are called the Mutawa. Secondly, they have no authority to arrest nor even touch anyone at all unless there is an actual policeman present also.

All too often, the Mutawa will try to enforce the religious laws when by themselves. Everyone, in this case (including the Saudis), ignore them.

As far as beating a Mutawa up, while it is not all that wise, perhaps, there is precendent for doing so. Some years ago, a religious policeman was beat up by a bunch of women at Sahara mall in Riyadh because he stopped a woman by touching her. And that is a no-no. Men do not touch women they are not familiar with here. That is an invitation to a severe beating.

I have heard other similar stories, including one involving the U.S. army female Lieutenant with a Mutawa in the Batha section of Riyadh.

It is not necessarily considered a crime to hit anyone unless you use a closed fist here.

Blowing Kisses

BLOWING KISSES

I meant to wave/ quite honestly,

But impulse got the best of me

I meant to wave/ but took a miss

Yes/ I did throw you a kiss

(Chorus) A Kiss is A Kiss X2

I make a big to-do, you know/ about my self-restraint

But when you barrel up to me, self-restraint/ it ain't

I was just so glad to see you/ when I noticed you were near

That I blew a real, big kiss/ and I meant it, dear

(Spoken Word)I'm not a light lady like Catherine Howard

When it comes to misbehaving, I'm a total coward

So instead of denying it, or saying I was raving

Know that kiss was the real deal,

But let's just call it "waving!"

(Chorus)

Let's not make a federal case/

No need for a disposition/

I hope you will be satisfied/

With my full admission:

Yes I blew a kiss at you/ in a wave of spontaneity

And, yes, my heart beat faster/ when you blew one back at me

And, yes, I'd do it all again/ for all the world to see

For fun, like blowing kisses, should not be a rarity

Mars Return

The planet Mars has a two year cycle. I've been in a creative whirlwind since May of 2008. I've written forty or more lyrics in this period. My first attempt was called "Lightning Bolt Lover".
Revised slightly, two years later, as Mars returns, I give you:

Lightning Bolt Lover

Loving you feels like living in a lightning bolt!

Loving you feels plugged in the highest volt

Excitement makes me vibrate like a dragonfly

You shoot divine electric from the sky

(Bridge)Synapses of thrills, Synapses of thrills

Just thinking about you gives me chills

(Chorus)Lightning Bolt Lover X2

I feel so complete when you are nearby

I'm not looking for another guy

Nobody thrills me the way you must

For lightning has a mighty thrust.

(Bridge)Synapses of thrills, Synapses of thrills

Just thinking about you gives me chills

(Chorus)Lightning Bolt Lover X2

My World is Dr. Feelgood

My World Is Dr. Feelgood

I don't need a physician
To control my condition
I'm as healthy as the day is long
My Diagnosis: "Nothing Wrong"
I enjoy abundant health
The sort that's worth much more than wealth
My habits should be understood
For me, the world is Dr. Feelgood

(bridge)Dr. Feelgood!
Yes, you felt me
The world at large
is there to help me
(Chorus) Dr. FEEE_L Good, Feee-el GoodX2

If I need a tonic
I take a few breaths deep
The chilly air enlivens me
When I awake from sleep
If I'm feeling hungry
I have something good to eat
A Dr. Feelgood sort of meal
Is something I repeat
If my feet ache. I get a rub
If I'm worn out, I take a tub
And when it comes to exercise
I merely have to move outside
I live in a perfumed garden
That's the spot from where I'm startin'
The scent of flowers gets me going
Green has a smell when things are growing
(chorus)Dr. Feeel Good?X3

And as I wander on my route
Wonders I pick just like fruit
A handsome man who throws me kisses
Vitamin-L-- that shot never misses
Testosterone--my drug of choice
Pours over me with your voice
By the time the sun is fully up
I've drunk deep from my loving cup
Dr. Feelgood is a daily diet
Well-being's in the air
Why not just try it?

Spring Sunday in San Francisco

I decided to go the the San Francisco film festival. I didn't know anything about the films on offer, and apparently, I didn't know much about the early 20th century art scene in Paris. I did not know, for example that Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky were lovers. But they were, and the movie screened about their affair was a sell-out smash. As I was waiting in a wonderful, sun-drenched, line of movie buffs, I noticed a beautiful older woman wearing an outfit inspired by Chanel. Soft fabric, separates, bold stripes, boatneck, shirt, pants, and a coordinating tam. She was beautful, white haired and erect and I would say, in her mid-eighties. She was clearly the star in the crowd. I was amazed when she asked if she could sit next to me. Two theaters, completely filled, and Maude sits next to me. What fun. We both enjoyed the film. I strongly recommend it.

Moving on out Geary to 27th St. and Wonderfoot Reflexology. My fairygoddaughter, Laura, joined me and we played both my new releases on an ipod while we had our treatments. Larry and Michael--respect!!! The gorgeous sun was still out when we moved on to the Elite Cafe for a glass of Chartreuse and some side-splitting laughter, as we settled some geographical questions invoving Iceland and New Zealand.

It was twilight as we walked around the corner to "Out the Door". A little Vietnamese supper, green papaya salad, shaking beef, and snap peas hit the spot. However, there was a little room left for Mango and Sticky Rice at a place called Pagan on Clement. I read Laura five poems, new stuff in the last ten days. I do consider this an enchanted April. Got to sleep in time to wake up and walk in the beautiful coolness of the new day. The illustration is FGD Laura with Jennifer at Wonderfoot. Ankle over there if you can. Your feet and every inch of you will say thanks.

Just Sayin'
There's something about you/
Like wearing a hug
I'd roll up inside you/
If you were a rug
I'd have you for breakfast/
If you were an omelette
If I were a poet/ You'd be my sonnet
If I were a chef/ I'd cook you for lunch
If I were Pilates, you'd be my crunch
The pleasure I get from just saying your name/
Says if I were a hunter/ You'd be my game
But since I go in for more peaceful pursuits /
Let's just say you're the flower/

Collard Greens By All Means

My friend Tracy brought me a huge bunch of fresh-picked collard greens. I didn't have a good vegetarian recipe, so I asked Laura, my FGD and award-winning nutritionist. She quickly gave me this recipe. It is so delicious, you won't miss the ham-hock or all day cooking. Viva veges/ You Go, greens. Here's how it goes:

I carefully removed everything but the leaves, rinsed and drained in a strainer.

In two batches, I steamed them in my vege steamer for about 25 minutes/ until very limp

At this point they were so delicious, they could be enjoyed JUST AS IS

However, I sliced yellow onion about 1/2 cup

Heating a little butter and olive oil in a saute pan, I sauteed the onion until limp, adding a couple of TBS blond balsamic vinegar (opt)

After sauteeing for a few minutes until well softened, I added the drained greens, salt, pepper, half a Meyer lemon, squeezed, and some toasted pecans. OMG!!!!!

Rainbow Over Middle School

Well, it is surely true that time flies when you're having fun. I haven't entered anything new on this blog, although a lot has happened. I was asked to write a song for a radio show called "Everyday Attraction". Within a few weeks the song was composed, produced, and I just finished listening to it on the air. You can hear it, too, by going to blogtalkradio.com/everydayattraction . It's a talk show about Law of Attraction featuring Rae Zander, a talker and teacher who is fascinating by the hour. Tune in!
Additionally, I'm finishing up two lyric books to go with my two new musical projects. I'm working with the graphic artist Susu Attar, and we are both well-pleased with our work. Tell a Different Story and Breathing Rainbows will be released within weeks, along with a new website. I have been wallowing in my lyrics while proofing them, and more fun than that you cannot have--unless it's walking out by Richardson Bay, getting slightly rained-on, and seeing a RAINBOW swing over middle school in Mill Valley; all while listening to my own tracks.
I've been writing many more lyrics, some of which will be found in a secret password- only website within a website, about which you will be hearing more soon. So, I managed to catch the rainbow on my phone and will be catching rainbows and breathing them going forward. Hope u do, too.

Perfect Thursday

A perfect Thursday afternoon

Listening to Amor U

While rain hits a harmony tattoo

It sorta feels like you're here, too

The M-Audio speakers are full out blasting

About my loves short/ long/ ever-lasting

Listening to beats on higher

Built by Anas Canon's fire

The aloe bush is also ablaze

Fifteen orange feathers decorate its maze

I'm leaning on a different story

In Aloe Vera's reflected glory

Raindrops filter my garden view

The beauty which i share with you

The Alchemy of Onions

Who'a thunk I'd have such fun

With a five pound bag of on-ions

Just slice, add salt and oil, and heat

Until they become soft, and sweet

It's called Onion Marmalade

A perfect dish for a rainy day

You have to stir each 15 minutes

To develop flavor in it

This goes on for hours

Four to be explicit

The more time the onions cook on low,

the more the flavor's in it

I like the slow-food concept

Jammed up and jelly tight

Transforming simple onions to a gourmet's delight

Let roaring thunder sound it's noise

And lightning match it's boast

I'll be cozy in my room

with marmalade and toast

How dee-lish to love Ganesh!

I was out walking in the wind and rain today. It was a case of grab some time outside before it gets stormier, floodier, and generally less user-friendly. I had rigged up what amounted to an umbrella hat, part of my new "mad hatter comfy look", which worked wonderfully. So I was still dry after an hour plus on the path. . .

Last Friday I was in "after glow" from a very good business meeting with Susu Attar, and a somewhat productive fact-finding mission to the Elite Cafe. In fact, I went home quite merrily and threw myself in bed, where I realized my Ganesha ring was missing---Ganesha! I had the ring made for me in Bangkok two years ago. The Ganesha figure had come unsoldered from the ring. This was the second time this had happened, but I had no idea where or when. I was too sleepy to get upset, so I slept and dreamed of the ring intact. In my dream, I relaxed, and so I did the next day. I kept looking for Ganesha, all around my car, and the yard, the house--NOTHING!! Gone, gone, gone.

I have been ardently working on thinking better-feeling thoughts on stubbornly out-of-vortex topics with sporadic success. I was trying, yes, yes, there I was, forward into unconditional love, forward into looking at positive aspects--I went to sit on the sofa in the living room, and there--as if PLACED there, sat my Ganesha in plain sight.
In the last two days I had sat down a dozen times--Ganesha was not there--and now, the overcomer of illusions, re-appeared--plain as day. A sign, I tell you. Just relax. Work hard on feeling good. ALL IS WELL!

A Happy Pumbing Story--LAL--Laughing at Leaks

My good Fortune persists. Yesterday, I discovered a leak under my sink. I left a message for my friend Tim, who is building a house across the street. I then went out for several hours. Upon my return I saw several trucks on the worksite. I found Mike, a plumber. Today, it's only 11 AM--I have entirely new pipes under the kitchen sink, they're black, they're sexy, they work--and all for under $100. Give thanks.

After The Rain--It's Insane!

After rain came pouring down

Dropping water by the pound

I walked while breathing air so sweet

You'd think a rainbow crossed my feet

Purple, blue, yellow, red

Colors coursing through my head

Although the day still remains grey

I'm breathing rainbows all the way

Video of the day: "Badder Romance"

God bless America. This surprisingly candid view into the creative process of some of young citizens, just makes me proud. The flip, the iphone, and so forthhave turned us all into citizen journalists. Can a wave of citizen filmakers be far behind? And boyfriend got moves, I wonder if Public Enemy needs a new back-up dancer?

Love’s new frontier -- The More the Merrier

Love’s new frontier - The Boston Globe

Posted using ShareThis

This is an interesting article about a lifestyle trend observed around Boston. It's called Polyamory and means, according to the article,“There’s monogamy where two people are exclusive. There’s cheating in which people are lying about being exclusive. And poly is everything else.” With guidelines.
I have written and recorded a song on the subject called "Polyamorous" on my soon to be released album "Tell a Different Story." Can't wait to share.
